Overview

Founded in 2010, Ministry of Employment and Labor, Korea (고용노동부) is a Korean government body responsible for general employment policies, employment insurance, vocational competency development training, standards for working conditions, workers' welfare, adjustment of labor-management relations, occupational safety and health, and industrial accident compensation insurance. In addition, it is the central administrative agency of the Republic of Korea in charge of affairs related to employment and labor. Major tasks include the establishment of policies related to employment, establishment and management of policies related to industrial insurance, the establishment and management of policies related to industrial insurance, the establishment of policies related to occupational capacity development, employment equality with work and family compatibility, and the establishment of policies related to labor conditions.
